Having left Bihar five years ago with a suitcase and an ambition to make it good, Akash Abhishek Karmakar, has struck gold. The 24-year-old is the head of a team that designs hair, fur and clothes of animated characters, earns a monthly salary that runs into six figures, goes to trance parties in Nepal and Goa and plans to buy his own flat in five years. He is an animator at a top notch firm. “Animation is really booming,” he said. “Loads of jobs are coming up, at least for the next five years. Its like an explosion, like the IT boom was. My job is very varied and dynamic. There is lots of energy at work and lots to learn from other people. Thats why I enjoy it.”
